MG
Sa Saloon
Unveiled in 1936, the MG SA was the flagship model from the Abingdon-based manufacturer and one of the most prestigious MGs of the pre-war period. A large sports saloon that combined elegance and comfort with the characteristic spirit of the British marque.
Production remained very limited, with fewer than 2,750 MG SAs built in total between 1936 and 1939. Today, the international register lists just over 260 surviving examples, making the SA a decidedly rare sight even at events dedicated to pre-war cars.
This example, a 1937 SA Saloon, is fitted with the correct 2,288 cc straight-six engine, mated to a four-speed manual gearbox.
The car was fully restored in 2004 in keeping with its original specification and remains in excellent overall condition to this day. The bodywork is finished in an elegant two-tone combination of Sequoia Cream and Woodland Green, complemented by spoked wheels with whitewall tyres.
The interior is particularly charming, featuring dark green leather upholstery, a wood-trimmed dashboard and finishings, period instrumentation and a large sunroof. The interior is very well preserved and now boasts a lovely patina, perfectly in keeping with the car’s character.
The MG has been in Italy for many years and was awarded the ASI Certificate of Identity in 2014. The car is in running order, a pleasure to drive and ready for use.
A rare and elegant pre-war MG with a striking presence on the road, ideal for rallies, shows and events dedicated to classic cars, or for a collection of British cars.
